Rock Recovery’s Individual Recovery campaign includes programs and projects targeting individuals striving to achieve and/or maintain long-term recovery. This population includes, but is not limited to, individuals seeking to supplement medical treatment and/or engage in therapeutic activities outside the limited scope of their current outpatient treatment. These activities include, but are not limited to counseling; nutritional guidance and support; art and expressive arts therapies; cognitive-behavioral therapy; mindfulness training; and stress reduction training. Sustained Recovery activities programs planned for 2010 include:

  • **LAUNCHING JULY 11, 2010**: C.O.R.E. (Christ-centered Opportunities to Restore & Engage) - a weekly art therapy group facilitated by a licensed therapist with a full understanding of eating disorders
  • **LAUNCHING JULY 11, 2010**: NIA Dancea weekly class focused on kinesthetically experiencing and internalizing extreme self-acceptance through the practice of NIA, an expressive dance therapy
  • **LAUNCHING SEPTEMBER 2010**: Realness With Food – a weekly nutritional support group co-facilitated by a nutritional coach and a psychologist. This group will involve group meal preparation/cooking and will focus on the goodness of nutritious foods, and the interplay between emotions and eating, restricting, and exercise behaviors.

Rock Recovery's largest and foremost Individual Recovery initiative is the establishment of recovery houses that fill the critical need for a place in between community recovery activities and residential/inpatient treatment.

  • Rock Recovery Houses - Rock Recovery Houses will provide housing and therapy for up to eight women or men. Houses will operate in the evening, overnight, and morning hours 5 days per week, and full-time on weekends. Each house will be staffed by a nutritionist, a fitness instructor, multiple therapists, and lifestyle coaches. Where possible, staff will be individuals with long-term, solid recovery from eating and/or exercise disorders, and will have extensive experience working with food and/or exercise disorders. Each house will also have a resident coach who will live in the house and will be responsible for night-time and morning house operations.

Rock Recovery is currently working to establish the first of many Rock Recovery Houses in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Please see the Recovery Houses tab for details on this initiative!

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

- Psalm 143:8

By living fully,
recognizing that all we do is by His power,
we honor God;
He in turn blesses us.
