Since January 2010, Rock Recovery has participated in multiple events in and around DC, including: Arlington County's Martin Luther King Tribute Event The Taste of Arlington Celebrate Fairfax! We also hosted our 2nd Annual RockingRecovery at Auld Shebeen in Fairfax, and enjoyed a Volunteer Appreciate Picnic at Bel Aire Park. In 2009, our first year of operation, Rock Recovery hosted multiple events for each our Community Empowerment and Early Intervention campaigns. Greg Roth & The Bargains Rock for Recovery Saturday, October 24th: Busboys & Poets @ 14th & V St NW hosted the fun-loving music of Greg & his band. Many thanks for dedicating this night to eating disorder awareness! September 19, 2009: For it`s first outreach event, Rock Recovery collected donations from artists and artisans across the country. We raised over $1,500 for Rock Recovery and more importantly, educated many on risk factors and how to help those suffering. Spotlight on Recovery October 13, 2009: Busboys & Poets Shirlington enabled Rock Recovery to share their mission with hundreds of customers and donated 5% of dinner sales to our cause. Thanks to Busboys & Poets, especially Kat and the wonderful Shirlington staff, for making this outreach a huge success. RockingRecovery @ Ebeneezer's Coffeehouse October 9, 2009: This invited singer/songwriter competition challenged four local artists to play their most uplifting and inspirational songs. Congratulations to Margot MacDonaldfor winning the competition and many thanks to David Condon, Dar Stellabotta, and Zack Peterson for giving her a run for her money! Video coming soon!
