Rock Recovery’s Community Empowerment programs focus on empowering individuals to reach out to and support those they know are or suspect to be struggling with disordered eating. Target communities include friends and family of those suffering, dieticians, nutritionists, therapists, personal trainers, coaches, dentists, and dental hygienists. In 2009, Community Empowerment activities included:

• September 19, 2009: Art, Eating & Exercise – Health fair and auction
• October 22: Rock for Recovery – Concert and health talk

Community Empowerment activities planned for 2010 include:

• May 16, 2010: Food is Good! - Taste of Arlington event activities
• Summer 2010: Rock for Recovery – Concert and health talk
• Fall 2010: Art, Eating & Exercise – Health fair and auction
• Ongoing: Pathways – a professional, accredited training program for health professionals
