Recovery Houses

PDF Print E-mail

Rock Recovery is currently working to establish the first of many recovery houses. These houses will address 3 critical and common barriers to long-term recovery by:

  • Providing high-quality, intensive treatment - a combination of individual and group therapies, nutritional and fitness guidance, accountability, and support
  • Enabling residents to work, attend classes, or be with their children during the day, then focus on recovery in the evenings and mornings, and on weekends
  • Removing financial barriers to recovery - Rock Recovery houses will ask residents to invest in their recovery up to meeting the cost of living in the area in which the house is located; individuals lacking financial resources will be able to apply for scholarships

Recovery House Activities

Rock Recovery house residents will engage in recovery activities every evening and on weekends. These activities include, but not limited to:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Body image work
  • Guided prayer and meditation
  • Mind-body therapy (e.g., NIA, Yoga)
  • Psychosomatic therapy
  • Community support groups (e.g., Celebrate Recovery, 12-Step meetings, ANAD meetings)

Oversight

Rock Recovery has established policies and procedures surrounding the operation of all our recovery houses. Each house will employ professional staff who report to a House Director. The House Director will report to our Executive Direcor, who in turn reports to the President of the Board of Directors as well as to members of the Board serving on our "Residence Taskforce." Rock Recovery operates in accordance with a Code of Conduct & Ethics, and Recovery Houses will operate in accordance with set House Operating Procedures. Through these measures, Rock Recovery will provide a safe environment in which residents can face their addictions/disorders.
